EBI Lumber Dry Kiln Duty Motor Lubrication
The EBI Dry Kiln Duty Motors manufactured by EBI must be lubricated with a determined quantity of grease and a frequency that varies depending on the number of hours of use. Another factor that influences the lubrication process of a kiln motor is the temperature of the kiln in which the kiln motor operates for ventilation. It is recommended to grease kiln motors more frequently and to use the right quantity of grease instead of using more grease after longer intervals of time.
Before Lubricating!
1) Make sure that the grease fittings on end bells are clean before lubricating
2) Remove the drain plugs located under the motor end bells to allow any used or old grease to exit during lubrication process

3) Make sure that the grease you are using is compatible with EBI's original kiln motor grease
At the base of each grease or lubricant is a chemical or a complex of chemicals that is not necessaritly compatible with another lubricant. The grease used by EBI Electric in the manufacturing process of the EBI Dry Kiln Duty Motors is based with a calcium-sulfonate complexe (SINEP2 from the Sinto brand).
Kiln Motor Grease Compatibility Chart
Below you will find a grease compatibility chart listing the different chemical ingredients at the base of each grease and their degreee of compatibility with one another. You can also download this chart by clicking this link.

During Lubrication
For better results, let the EBI kiln motor run during lubrication so that the new grease will mix itself more evenly with the bearings.
EBI Dry Kiln Duty Motor Lubrication Frequency
The following recommendations are general and are meant as guidelines. They must not replace the lubrication directives that were given by EBI for your specific lumber dry kiln conditions in which EBI kiln motors are running.

EBI Motor Grease Quantity
The quantity of grease that needs to be injected for the lubrication of each bearing depends on the type of kiln motor frame and the type of bearing.
